Contribution of Western Women Scholars of Urdu / South Asian Islam

The goal of this open-access bilingual (Urdu and English) journal is to bring together academicians, scholars, and researchers engaged in divergent fields of research, criticism, comparative, theoretical, and cultural studies of Urdu Language, literature, and Culture. We prefer to focus on studies related to cross-cultural exploration and subsequent innovation of subjects concerned, as mentioned below, and establishing new collaborations in these areas.  We are now accepting submissions for the 2024 issue.

Subject/ Thrust Areas (All with reference to Urdu Language, Literature & Culture)

• Postcolonial Debates Related to Urdu Language, Literature & Culture
• Contemporary Eastern & Western Critical Theories, and their reception in Urdu
• South Asian Cultural & Historical Studies
• Urdu and Contemporary Western Scholarship
• Intercultural & Comparative Studies
• Urdu Theatre & Cinema
• Translations and Translation Studies
• Contribution of Arabic, Persian, Sanskrit and other literature in shaping classical Urdu literature

Authors are solicited to contribute to this journal by submitting research papers/ articles/ translations either in Urdu or in English on the above-mentioned subjects.

Note: The translators are requested to contact either the Chief Editor (for translations from any language into Urdu), or the Editor for translating any original Urdu work into English.
