Abstract. Naqi Ahmad Irshad was the grandson of Syed Ali Muhammad Shād ‘Azīmābādī. He was a chronicler of old Azimabad. This article was written after the publication of the poetry collection of Nawāb Ashraf ‘Alī Khān Fughaṉ, a renowned poet of Azimabad. The collection was edited by Syed Sabahuddin Abdur Rahman. It was the first article that appeared after the publication of that collection in which many first-hand information were provided by the author.
