Dr. Maziah Shaaz is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English and Modern European & Asian Languages at Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. She pursued her higher education at the University of Lucknow and received her doctorate in 2025. Her thesis focuses on the representation and misrepresentation of menstruation in literary texts and explores the origin of menstrual myths across cultures. Her areas of research interest include Gender Studies, Ecofeminism and Film Studies. She has published in journals of national and international repute. Beyond academia, she has a keen interest in reading detective fiction and is especially drawn to the cinematic world of psychological thrillers. A passionate gastronome, she also nurtures a love for travel, with the hope of exploring diverse cultures through their local cuisines.
